The Evolution of Nexus Engineering Group

In 2005, Nexus Engineering Group Founding Partners Jeff Herzog and Marianne Corrao set out to change the way engineering firms serve their clients. They envisioned a firm built on a simple but powerful idea: that the most effective solutions come from truly understanding the challenges our clients face, by taking them on as our own, and coming up with effective solutions.

“Since our founding, we’ve delivered on that belief—combining deep industry experience and expertise with a relationship-driven approach to becoming a trusted EPCm consultancy,” says Jeff.

Today, the industries we serve include Refining, Chemicals, Power & Energy, Renewable Energy, Midstream, and Manufacturing.

From Two Founders to more than 250 Experts

“What began as a two-person consultancy has grown into a full-service EPCm firm with multiple office locations,” says Marianne. 

Starting with engineering design and field engineering, we’ve continually expanded our capabilities to include high voltage electrical engineering, project services and controls, procurement, construction management, and more.

Milestones Along Our Journey

  • 2005Nexus Engineering Group is co-founded by Jeff Herzog and Marianne Corrao in Cleveland, Ohio.

  • 2013Business expands to include engineering and
    design services.

  • 2014Toledo operations are established with the opening of the Maumee, Ohio office.

  • 2015Nexus celebrates its 10th anniversary.

  • 2017A new Cleveland headquarters opens in the Hanna Building in Playhouse Square.

  • 2019Introduction of standalone Project Services expands the firm’s offerings.

  • 2020Energy Services division is launched to serve clients in the power and energy industry.

  • 2022Nexus expands office footprint to Midland, Michigan.

  • 2022The firm introduces Procurement Services offering.

  • 2023Chicago, Illinois office opens to support Energy Services and Midwest clients.

  • 2024Construction Management services are added to the firm’s portfolio.

  • 2025Nexus celebrates its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of growth, innovation, and client partnership.
