Dave Huhn Retires from Nexus Engineering Group

David Huhn's Retirement announcement

After an illustrious career spanning nearly two decades with Nexus Engineering, Dave Huhn is retiring from his role as Project Manager, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and dedication.

As employee #14 for the firm, Dave’s Nexus journey began in February 2007.

“I was fortunate enough to start with the firm in its early days. It was a very different company in the beginning – small and tight-knit,” says Dave. “Through the leadership of Jeff and Marianne, I am one of the lucky people who had the opportunity to witness the Team develop into the successful group of engineers they are today.”

For Dave, there was no mapped-out plan to become an engineer; it just happened that way.

“I always had a knack for tinkering with things my entire life,” he says. Dave is a proud alum of the University of Toledo, where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Dave outlined his 12 years working with Cenovus Energy as one of his most notable career achievements. Through the challenging hours and projects, Dave was surrounded by a strong Team and enjoyed the opportunity to be involved in the construction process at the refinery.

“Dave has led countless projects to upgrade the electrical infrastructure at Cenovus Toledo Refinery,” says Marianne Corrao, Executive Vice President of Nexus. “His talent, personality and friendship will be sorely missed by our team.”

Dave’s retirement marks the end of a fantastic career in engineering, but his legacy will undoubtedly inspire future generations of engineers at Nexus. His biggest piece of advice for the Team he leaves behind is to learn as many different things as you can.

“The Nexus Team is a cut above the rest. I will miss the people and clients the most.”

Dave plans to remain in the Toledo area and wants to spend more time on the golf course. He hopes to travel more with his wife Donna in this new season of life, including a potential trip to Hawaii in 2025. Most of all, Dave looks forward to not having to wake up early on Monday mornings.

Thank you for your dedication and service to the firm, Dave.
