Nexus Engineering Group Establishes its Board of Directors, Including Peter Howe as its Outside Director

Nexus Board of Directors

As part of its newly established employee stock ownership program, the firm has created a Board of Directors to provide strategic guidance and oversight to the leadership team

Cleveland, OH, August 6, 2024 – Nexus Engineering Group, a full-service, independent engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, is pleased to announce its newly established Board of Directors. The board is comprised of five remarkable individuals: Jeff Herzog, Co-Founder and President of Nexus Engineering Group, Marianne Corrao, Co-Founder of Nexus Engineering Group, Neal Curran, Chief Operating Officer of Nexus Engineering Group, Don Huller, Senior Advisor of Nexus Engineering Group, and Peter Howe, an independent Energy Executive. Each member brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for delivering the Nexus mission and vision.

Nexus Creates an Employee Stock Ownership Plan

Jeff Herzog, President, and Marianne Corrao, Executive Vice President, co-founded Nexus in 2005 with a vision of creating an engineering firm that brought together business savvy and owner/operator experience to deliver creative solutions and solve their clients’ most difficult problems. The formula worked, and today the firm boasts over 250 talented engineering, project management, procurement, construction management, and business professionals.

At the beginning of 2024, Nexus established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The program allows Nexus Team members to participate in the benefits of company ownership while providing a roadmap for the firm’s continued growth, development, and sustainability. The Nexus Board of Directors will support the growth of shareholder value for Nexus Team members by providing advice and counsel on strategic business plans, annual operating goals, company financials, and the performance of the firm’s President.

“Marianne [Corrao] and I are proud of what our Nexus Team has accomplished over the past 20 years and are excited to be entering into this new phase of growth and success. The newly formed ESOP aligns with our values and promotes quality, efficiency, and a culture of ownership,” said Jeff Herzog, President and Co-Founder of Nexus. “I look forward to serving on the Board and working with my fellow Directors to guide the firm into the future.”

Members of the Board of Directors

Herzog and Corrao will be joined by longtime Nexus executive leadership Team members, Neal Curran and Don Huller. Curran currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Nexus where he has oversight of the firm’s business operations, infrastructure, technology, contracting, and third-party services. Curran joined Nexus in 2007 as the firm’s 4th employee after a career in operations at a global manufacturer of home and long-term care medical products. Huller has been with Nexus since 2013, when he joined and launched the engineering design services business at the firm. With over 40 years of experience in operating environments and engineering consulting, Huller now serves as a Senior Advisor to the Engineering organization.

Peter Howe, an external Board member, most recently served as Executive Vice President at Allied Resources Group and prior to that, as the President at PLH Group, a specialty contractor that provides electrical and pipeline infrastructure construction, maintenance, and inspection services to the utility and energy markets. Howe has over forty years of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction consulting, working with clients in the chemical processing, refining, power and energy, and biofuels industries. He has worked as an engineer, project manager, business development manager, and has held roles as Senior Vice President Project Management and President, Pipeline Segment. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and an MBA from the University of Delaware. He has previously worked with Nexus through a partnership with KBR.

“I am looking forward to serving on the board for Nexus Engineering Group,” said Howe. “Nexus has been on an incredible journey of growth and investment. I hope to bring my experience and expertise to the board and to deepen our partnerships for the future.”
