Nexus Promotes Chris Squires and Paul Ruhland to Department Manager Positions and Hires Alan Kohart to Lead Toledo Electrical Department

Cleveland, OH, August 24, 2023 – Nexus Engineering Group LLC (Nexus), a full-service engineering firm, announces department manager promotions of Chris Squires and Paul Ruhland, and the hiring of Alan Kohart. Squires, Ruhland and Kohart bring extensive engineering and design consulting expertise as well as firsthand operations experience to the Nexus management group.

Chris Squires has been promoted from Senior Engineer to Instrumentation & Controls Discipline Manager in the Maumee (Toledo) office. Squires has ten years of experience as a technical lead for single and multi-discipline projects. His most recent role was working in electrical and instrumentation engineering, supporting clients in construction management. Squires previously worked on detailed drawing packages, P&IDs, cable schedules, schematics, power plans, instrument location plans and procurement. Squires graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in chemical engineering.

Paul Ruhland has been promoted from Staff Engineer to Electrical Discipline Manager in the Cleveland office. Ruhland boasts nineteen years of experience as an electrical engineer in the application of power systems studies, electrical software modeling, and power distribution. His most recent role was performing on site surveying of electrical distribution systems and supporting clients in the manufacturing, chemical and power generation industries. Ruhland graduated from Purdue University with a degree in electrical engineering. Ruhland is a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio.

Alan Kohart joins the firm as an Electrical Discipline Manager in the Maumee (Toledo) office, collaborating closely with the Nexus team and clients to successfully complete projects. He has 15 years of experience in supporting multi-discipline engineering in energy, substation design, and utility projects. Previously, Kohart supported clients in the municipal, manufacturing, food industry, transportation, and retail industries. He is a Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University.

Ruhland will report to Cleveland Engineering Manager, Greg Fuhrman. Squires and Kohart will report to Maumee Engineering Manager, Jason Didion.
