Cleveland, OH, December 10, 2024 – Nexus Engineering Group, a full-service, independent engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Ackerman as Director of Project Services. This strategic addition underscores Nexus’s dedication to delivering innovative and client-focused project solutions, solidifying its position as a leader in technical project execution across diverse industries. 

With extensive experience in project scheduling, team leadership, and organizational management, Chris Ackerman has a proven track record of driving success in large-scale refinery and industrial operations. His certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) highlight his expertise in project controls and his ability to drive successful outcomes for clients.  

In his new role, Ackerman will lead Nexus’s Project Services & Controls group, ensuring the seamless execution of estimating, risk management, scheduling, and quality assurance services, while overseeing several key project functions, including Project Coordination and Document Control, Cost Analysis and Reporting, and Project Information Management. 

Ackerman will guide Nexus’s Project Services group across the firm’s office locations in Cleveland, Toledo, Midland, and Chicago. He will also manage the embedded turnaround controls staff, bringing a unified approach to project execution and ensuring the firm’s operations align with best practices and exceed client expectations.

Chris’s leadership will enable Nexus to refine and expand its already robust Project Services & Controls capabilities, which include: 

  • Estimating and Scheduling: Delivering accurate and reliable cost forecasts, developing and maintaining schedules to ensure timely project delivery 
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identifying and addressing potential project risks proactively. 
  • Project Controls and Reporting: Providing comprehensive, real-time reporting on project performance, tracking key metrics and KPIs, and ensuring stakeholders are informed with actionable insights.  
  • Information and Document Management: Ensuring streamlined project documentation and data access. 
  • Data and Project Analytics: Leveraging data-driven insights to optimize project outcomes, improve decision making, and increase efficiency.  
  • Quality Assurance and Lessons Learned: Embedding continuous improvement and best practices into every project. 

This announcement comes on the heels of Nexus’s recent appointment of Hugo Hall as Director of Construction Management and Turnaround Services. Together, these appointments reflect Nexus’s investment in building a leadership team that seamlessly integrates project services with site execution to deliver unmatched EPCM solutions.
