Nexus Engineering Group Expands Energy Services Team

Refinery ImageNexus adds industry veterans Marty Ellman, Gabe Sciarretti, and Tim Hoekenga to its growing team focused on serving the delivery and generation of electrical energy.

Cleveland, OH – Nexus Engineering Group LLC announces the hiring of Project Director Marty Ellman, Business Director Gabe Sciarretti, and Senior Project Manager Tim Hoekenga to support the expansion and enhancement of Nexus’s energy services capabilities to our Energy and Industrial clients. Nexus currently provides a full range of technical services including engineering, project controls, project management, and quality assurance support to clients in the refining, chemical processing, petroleum midstream, and energy industries. The addition of Ellman, Sciarretti, and Hoekenga enhances Nexus’s growing energy services offering which currently includes substation engineering, power systems analysis, and distributed generation design.

Marty Ellman joins the firm as a project director who will be responsible for energy client engagement, scope definition and execution at the project level. Ellman has over thirty years of power and energy consulting engineering experience and has held roles in business development, project management of engineering and construction projects, and management supervision of associated staff. Ellman is a professional engineer, certified energy manager, and distributed generation certified professional, specializing in power systems, control systems, and energy projects. He holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Cleveland State University.

Gabe Sciarretti joins Nexus as a business director charged with managing new and existing energy client engagement at the executive level, commercial compliance with the same, preparing and presenting proposals and managing project teams that are executing the work. He has over 30 years of experience in the engineering and construction industries in executive leadership, business development, project
management, and engineering roles. Sciarretti holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Akron and a master’s in business administration from John Carroll University.

Finally, Tim Hoekenga is a senior project manager responsible for managing project teams and client relationships, developing work processes, and integrating energy services capabilities with current Nexus offerings. He has over 15 years of experience in the electrical engineering and consulting industry managing multi-discipline teams through highly complex energy projects. Hoekenga is a professional engineer and holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin. Ellman, Sciarretti, and Hoekenga will work closely with veterans Dennis Hill, Pat Chmura, and John Alexander, who joined Nexus earlier this year, and the rest of the Nexus team to extend services to clients in the energy generation, transmission, and distribution sectors.
