Cleveland, OH – Nexus Engineering Group LLC announces the hiring of Senior Consultant Dennis Hill, Principal Engineer Patrick Chmura, and Project Director John Alexander to support the expansion and enhancement of Nexus’ energy services capabilities to our Utility and Industrial clients producing and using electrical energy.

Nexus currently provides a full range of technical services including engineering, project controls, project management, and quality assurance support to clients in the refining, chemical processing, petroleum midstream, and utilities industries. The addition of Hill, Chmura, and Alexander will allow Nexus to extend its energy services capabilities to these clients to include new and upgrade substation engineering, power systems analysis, electrical safety solutions, and arc flash hazard analysis.

Dennis Hill joins the firm as a senior consultant who will be responsible for energy client engagement, scope definition and execution at the project level. He is hands-on and will lead a Team of electrical engineers with a combined experience of more than 100 years. Hill is a professional engineer, holds a B.S. in electrical engineering, and is certified in PowerSafe Generation Safety. He is an Executive member of the IEEE Electrical Safety Committee and is an NFPA 70E Low and Medium Voltage Trainer.

He has over 30 years of electrical engineering experience in the design, analysis, startup/commissioning support, operation of power and control systems for utilities and industrial facilities up to 230kV. Patrick Chmura is a principal engineer who will be responsible for the day to day functions of the Arc Flash Analysis Team. He will be responsible for power system design and analysis oversight and generating comprehensive deliverables for our utility and industrial clients. Chmura holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and is a registered Ohio E.I.T. He has over 30 years of electrical engineering experience in electrical design and evaluation of power distribution and control systems for the electrical generation, chemical, refining, and beverage industries.

Finally, John Alexander is a Project Director who will be responsible for new and existing energy client engagement at the executive level, commercial compliance with the same, preparing and presenting proposals and managing project teams that are executing the work in the energy and chemical sectors.

Alexander, a mechanical engineer from Northeast Ohio, has over 30 years’ experience in engineering, project & personnel management, business development, and business operations. The past 15 years being in Power Delivery and Generation. John currently sits on the Board of the Cleveland Engineering Society (CES) and is a former member of ASME, RMEL, and GRC.

Hill, Chmura, and Alexander will work with the Nexus team to extend these services to existing and new clients, including in energy transmission and distribution which is a new industry for Nexus.
