Cleveland, OH – November 11, 2025 – Nexus Engineering Group, a full-service independent engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm) firm, is proudly celebrating 20 years of industry innovation, growth, and excellence.

A Rich History of Innovation, Growth, and Excellence

Founded in 2005 by Jeff Herzog and Marianne Corrao, Nexus began with the ambition to build a consultancy where engineers, designers, and project professionals truly understood their clients’ business needs. Their vision: go beyond simply delivering what was asked and offer creative thinking to transform engineering challenges into innovative solutions. The company’s journey began with a single client, a major Midwest oil and gas refinery, a partnership that endures to this day.
“At the onset, we wanted to build something different together, an EPCm firm driven by collaboration, integrity, and a relentless focus on understanding client business drivers so we can deliver value,” said co-founder Marianne Corrao. “That mindset still shapes how we work today, the culture we’ve fostered, and the long-standing relationships we’ve developed.”
From two people to over 250 talented professionals, the team built a solid foundation for continued growth and strong, trusted client partnerships. Nexus expanded its offerings in 2013 to include comprehensive engineering and design services, marking the start of steady advancement and diversification over the next decade. The firm soon welcomed clients from an array of industries, including refining, chemicals, power and energy, renewable energy, manufacturing, and more. During this time, Nexus also expanded its regional reach, opening new offices in Maumee, Ohio (2014), Midland, Michigan (2021), and Chicago, Illinois (2022).

In 2024, the firm introduced an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), giving every team member the opportunity to benefit from company ownership and a stake in its future success.

Two Decades of Impact

Today, Nexus employs more than 250 talented professionals, has completed 5,000 projects across a dozen states for 50+ clients, dedicated 3.6 million hours to excellence, invested over $1 million in employee training and development, and along the way, celebrated countless team milestones, including 46 marriages and 68 births.
“Nexus has always been about our people, partnerships, and pushing the boundaries of client service,” said Herzog. “We are proud of our team, our clients, and the projects that define our 20-year legacy. It’s our dedication to the Nexus way that has earned our clients’ respect and trust, as well as significant industry recognition.”

Nexus has received numerous recognitions including designation as an Engineering News Record’s (ENR) Top 500 Design Firm and being named a top workplace in Northeast Ohio for three consecutive years.
