Nexus’ Project Management Organization Announces Significant Investment

Firm grows its project management team through new hires and internal transfers, and announces planned investment in new project information management technology

Cleveland, OH – Nexus Engineering Group, a full-service engineering firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, recently announced the hiring of four project managers and the internal transfer of three team members to the project management team. In addition, the firm is planning an investment in project information management technology that will improve productivity and quality for the project management organization.

Steven Busby joined Nexus in the fall of 2022 as a Project Manager. Busby boasts over 20 years of experience as a project manager, program manager and leading new product development. His most recent role was as Director of Engineering & Program Management, supporting clients in the manufacturing space. Busby graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is located in Maumee, Ohio, and leads projects with chemical processing and manufacturing clients.

Cheryl Hoffman Peper, Senior Project Manager, joined in the fall of 2022. Hoffman Peper has over 30 years of experience as a project, design, and commissioning engineer in the power generation, transmission, and distribution and refining industries. Hoffman Peper graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in electrical engineering. She is located in Maumee, Ohio, leads projects with power transmission and distribution clients.

Travis Moore, Senior Project Manager, joined in February of 2023. He has over 20 years of experience as a project and design engineer in the oil and energy industries. Moore graduated from Ohio Northern University with a degree in electrical engineering. He is located in Maumee, Ohio, and leads projects with refining and chemical manufacturing clients.

Sheila Manley, Senior Project Manager, joined in April of 2023. Manley has 20 years of experience as a project and design engineer with oil, gas, and petrochemical companies. Manley graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in mechanical engineering and holds a MBA from Webster University. She is located in Cleveland, OH, and leads projects with refining and chemical manufacturing clients.

Internal Transfers Increase Department Depth

Amy Lee, most recently a Staff Engineer in the Process Department, has transitioned to a Project Manager role. Lee has over 20 years of experience as a chemical and process engineer. In her most recent role at Nexus, she focused on project work in the chemical processing, renewable energy, and refining industries. In her new role, she will lead projects for clients in the chemical manufacturing and renewable industries.

Mike Davis, now a Project Engineer, has a background in refinery site projects. He attended the University of Toledo where he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering. In his most recent role at Nexus, he focused on project work as a seconded employee in the refining industry. In his new role, he will support projects in the refining and chemical manufacturing industries.

Joe Santocildes, previously a manager in the project services department, will now be supporting the management of the Nexus project information management system as a Project Information Manager. He has over 25 years of experience as a field engineer, construction manager, project engineer and mechanical engineer.

Travis Moore, Steve Busby, Amy Lee, and Mike Davis will report to Gregg Pinkelman in Maumee, Ohio. Sheila Manley will report to Melena Huller in Cleveland, Ohio, and Cheryl Hoffman Peper will report to Marty Ellman in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe Santocildes will report to Chief Operating Officer, Neal Curran, COO located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Nexus Invests in Project Information Management Tools

Nexus is planning an investment in a project information management platform that will improve productivity, collaboration, and quality across the project management organization. The technology will enhance data security, increase document controls capabilities, and make the information management process more efficient. It will also allow for better project planning, tracking and data reporting. Joe Santocildes and Chief Operating Officer, Neal Curran, will be responsible for overseeing the effort which is expected to be rolled out in early 2024.
