Nexus Jumps to #11 on Crain’s Cleveland Business 2021 Top Engineering Firms List
Cleveland engineering firm moves up for the third straight year, now ranking #11 among Northeast Ohio’s largest engineering firms in 2021.
For the third consecutive year, Nexus Engineering Group LLC climbed the list of largest engineering firms in Northeast Ohio, moving up six spots from #17 to #11. Each year, Crain’s Cleveland Business ranks the largest engineering firms by the number of registered professional engineers in Northeast Ohio. The list also publishes the featured firms’ total number of engineers, employees, and revenue generated locally in 2020.
Profitable Growth in 2020
Nexus grew its annual revenue 12% in 2020 and celebrated a successful 15th year in business despite headwinds from COVID, continuing to deliver exceptional service and support for its clients in oil refining, petroleum midstream, manufacturing, chemicals, and energy. In 2020 the company expanded its energy expertise with a number of strategic hires and added to its portfolio of offerings for clients producing and using electrical energy. Energy Services are a priority for Nexus in 2021, as it meets the growing demand for project support around decarbonization efforts, modernization of electrical infrastructure, sustainable design, cogeneration, renewables, and the growing importance of energy storage systems.
Strategic Hiring and Expansion
In 2020, Nexus grew its team by more than 20% across disciplines and expanded its offices in Toledo to better serve a growing number of clients in Northwestern Ohio, Central Michigan, and the Detroit metropolitan area. The firm’s multi-year growth in revenue and hiring in the state helped fuel the company’s upward movement on Crain’s list of Northeast Ohio engineering firms.
