Nexus Hires Project Services Director to Lead Internal Operations and Expand Critical Client Services

Brendan Shanley to oversee Nexus Project Services team and expand critical client support

Cleveland, OH – Nexus Engineering Group LLC announces the hiring of Brendan Shanley as Project Services Director for the company, reporting to CFO Don Newberry. Shanley will oversee Nexus’s growing Project Services function.  Nexus Project Services includes traditional project controls (estimating, planning and scheduling, risk assessment and mitigation) plus knowledge management, procurement services and contract management.  Project Services support Nexus project teams and are offered as standalone client services.

The hiring of Shanley continues Nexus’s focus on providing critical and high demand client services and positions Nexus for future growth.   In 2020, Nexus continued its profitable growth and added to its impressive engineering team.  Nexus also welcomed industry-leading talent to meet growing demand for energy services capabilities.  For 2021, with Shanley’s leadership and knowledge, Nexus will enhance and expand its capabilities to deliver project performance predictability and minimize execution surprises.

“Expanding our internal project controls expertise is a priority for Nexus in 2021 and beyond,” says Jeff Herzog, President of Nexus Engineering Group, LLC. “Brendan has the personality, deep know-how and consulting experience to lead our efforts. He has the ability to assess exceptionally difficult project obstacles, apply appropriate levels of analytics and provide clear explanation and communication of the actions needed to put a project back on track.”

Shanley brings nearly two decades of knowledge and client-side experience in all aspects of project controls, cost engineering, and contract management to the Project Services Director role. Prior to joining Nexus, he served as a Project Services Leader at BP for their Downstream business, coordinating, developing, and implementing project control systems, tools and procedures to drive project performance. Brendan holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Construction Quantity Surveying from Birmingham City University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Construction Law from Wolverhampton University.

“I’m excited to join the growing team at Nexus and to help further build the project controls function for the firm and our clients,” said Shanley.
